Last week’s meeting of Ballynahinch Camera Club was the last ‘normal’ meeting of the year and visiting speaker, local photographer Raphael Mason, did not disappoint his audience. Raphael gave a very entertaining and informative talk illustrating it with many of his stunning landscape and portrait photographs. Raphael is a former member of Ballynahinch Camera Club and was well known in the
area in his capacity as a photographer with the local press. He explained how circumstances had seen him move several years ago from that of an employee to being self-employed – a move he has not regretted.

Raphael was very willing to share his expertise and his enthusiasm for his photography was infectious. His message for club members was that although it is good to win competitions with our images, it is more important to enjoy photography just by taking photographs which we like. He left his audience looking forward to better summer weather and to getting out with their cameras and having fun.

This week’s meeting is going to take the form of a charity quiz which will be held in the Lakeside Inn at Ballydugan on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. All are welcome. Proceeds will be in aid of club funds and ‘The Edge’ youth group in Ballynahinch.

New members are always welcome and if anyone with an interest in photography would like more details of joining the club they should visit the club website – – www.ballynahinchcameraclub.co.uk.
