At last week’s meeting on 15th January 2026, Ballynahinch Camera Club members enjoyed a fascinating evening as three of their own—Noah Millar, Alan Chowney, and Club Chairman Keith Wilson—gave demonstrations of a range of photo retouching software, including the latest AI-powered tools.

Noah Millar opened the session with a demonstration of Polar Nexx, an AI-powered platform that is free to use, with users only paying for their final exports. The session offered insight into accessible new technology that can save photographers significant processing time while unlocking fresh creative possibilities.

Alan Chowney, President of NIPA, then showed members how to enhance portraits using Adobe Lightroom, focusing on subtle eye retouching techniques that improve images while keeping them looking natural.

Club Chairman Keith Wilson concluded with a live demonstration of Evoto, a contemporary AI-assisted editing tool that streamlines retouching while still allowing full creative control. Both Keith and Noah Millar were also able to provide generous discount codes, giving members a chance to explore these tools further.

Next week’s meeting will feature the club’s internal Novice Competition, where members will submit their entries. It promises to be an exciting evening showcasing creativity and skill.

Ballynahinch Camera Club welcomes photographers of all abilities, from complete beginners to those with many years of experience. New members are invited to attend for a few weeks with no obligation to see if the club is right for them. There is also plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, and good craic to enjoy.
