At last week’s Ballynahinch Camera Club meeting (5th February), we held our annual group photograph night.
It was a fun-filled and relaxed evening enjoyed by everyone. Members brought along their own props, ranging from favourite cameras to objects reflecting their interests and personalities — and even a touch of make-up artistry.
Members took turns directing and capturing the images, while the camera was tethered to a nearby laptop, allowing photographs to be viewed instantly in Lightroom. This added to the excitement and demonstrated the concept of tethering, with plenty of laughs along the way.
The late Charlie Rutledge, a founding member of the club, made it a priority to capture a yearly photograph of members. As well as creating fond memories, it serves as a valuable archive showing the changing faces of the club over the years. It is a tradition current club chairman Keith Wilson is keen to uphold. Fellow member Ciara Fullam played a key role in developing both this, and also last year’s creative collage concept featuring club members.
At next week’s meeting, we plan to use AI software, Evoto, to create a collage of all members, which promises to be another enjoyable and creative evening.
