At last week’s meeting of Ballynahinch Camera Club the evening was divided into two parts. During the first part, images were chosen to be submitted to a NIPA Panel Project. These photographs had been taken earlier in the year to mark the 250th anniversary of Edengrove Presbyterian Church. Novices were given the chance to choose ten images which will be displayed in a two by five grid. Not only does this grid have to look good, but reasons must be given in the presentation as to why particular images were chosen. After the initial selection of the images, the discussion was opened to the whole meeting and the panel was fine-tuned.

The second part of the evening involved critiques of images which could potentially be submitted for the second round of competition. The genre of this round is Architecture and much lively debate ensued as to what constituted an architectural photograph and as to how some of the images could be improved. Entries for this round of competition are due in on Thursday 24 October.

At this week’s meeting, the guest speaker will be Landscape and Portrait photographer, Gabrielle O’Shaughnessy from Drogheda Camera Club.

New members are always welcome and if anyone with an interest in photography would like more details of joining the club they should visit the club website – www.ballynahinchcameraclub.co.uk.
